SmallTweak is a small program for Handheld PC to configure device settings without using any registry editors.

SmallTweak

The following settings can be configured with the current version of SmallTweak:

• Items to be displayed at Desktop or Top folder. My H/PC, Recycle Bin, etc can be configured including their icons and names.
• To associate Extensions with Applications.
• Device power off time.
• Window animation.
• System fonts.
• Font cache size.
• Scrollbar settings.
• Software Input Panel settings. (CE 2.11 and higher)
• PocketIE to display 65,536 colors. (CE 2.11)
• Card battery warning.
• Clear history for 'Run' from the Start Menu.
• Clear history for 'Documents' from the Start Menu.
• Clear history for 'Address' of Explorer.

Yes! "Tweak" of SmallTweak is taken from the "TweakUI" for Windows 95! SmallTweak offers much less functions than the TweakUI, so "Small" is prefixed.

Still, SmallTweak has the following advantages over modifying the registry directly:

1. Safe

   Modifying the registry incorrectly may cause the entire system to fail or crash, especially for inexperienced users. While SmallTweak does not have such risk.

2. Easy

   When using a registry editor, you must know in advance exactly how and where to make the changes. While SmallTweak uses an easy GUI, you do not have to know anything about the registry to tweak your device.

3. Convenient

   When tweaking under "Action" tab, all previous settings remain in the drop down list. Thus, you can easily go back to any former settings.

There is a Pocket PC version named PocketTweak. Please refer to the page if you are using Pocket PC.

SmallTweak is a free software. License condition is written in a distributed file. Read the condition before using the SmallTweak.

• 4.0 2001.4.20 File Type page changed its GUI, etc
  • The Action page has renamed to File Type page and the GUI of the page has changed. The new GUI is much like the File Type page of Windows 2000 Explorer option.
  • Although only the surface level of settings in the Action page was applicable previously, whole changes in the File Type page are now applied when OK button was pressed.
  • Desktop page has consolidated Explorer page, and the GUI has changed.
  • Desktop page added new function to change the icon and its name of special icons on the Desktop or Top Folder.
  • Font page added new function to change system fonts.
  • Font cache size hold the value even if it was once disabled then enabled.
  • Animation page has removed, instead General page has added. Window animation setting has moved to General page.
  • Pocket IE page has removed for HPC 2000 because it did not work on HPC 2000. (HPC 2000 only)
  • General page has added Card battery warning setting. (HPC 2000 only)
  • Paranoia page has been added. The page provides history removals.
  • Paranoia page added new function to remove Documents history.
  • Down arrow key became to open drop down list with all combo boxes.
  • Internal processing has changed and has become more efficient.
  • SmallTweak icon has changed.
