SpaceLeft(Pocket PC)

Windows CE itself does not provide the functionality to show the amount of free space in flash memory area (Note: I noticed that this is not true with H/PC pro and Pocket PC. Written on Jul 11, 2000). Instead, several software provides this functionality. However, I did not feel comfortable with any of them. Some of them require relatively big amount of storage area to be installed and relatively big amount of memory to be executed. The others provides more features than I needed.

Thus I developed this SpaceLeft to meet my own request. Though it just provides very simple function to show the amount of free space in your flash memory, it is very small, very light weight and is provided as a free software!

The following are the features of SpaceLeft.

Very simple, very light weight
This program focuses on showing the amount of free space, thus the executable file is just over 10KB.
This does not have extra features such as residing in the task tray and so on, and the fact makes this software very small.
Usage ratio of storage is shown visually
Configurable card folder name
SpaceLeft can be used even in the case the folder names which represent memory cards are other than '\Storage Card' or '\Storage Card2'. Localized version of Windows CE may require this configuration.

SpaceLeft is a free software. License condition is written in a distributed file. Read the condition before using the SpaceLeft.

It is considered that SpaceLeft is compatible with Palm-size PCs. In fact, Tillanosoft has confirmed SpaceLeft ver 2.4 works correctly on jornada 420. You can install the program on your Palm-size PC device. However, Tillanosoft will no longer support the platform.

2.6 2004.10.20 Improved compatibility with WM2003SE VGA PPC

SpaceLeft has improved compatibility with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Pocket PC VGA Screen.

2.5 2003.6.16 ActiveSync 3.7 problem fixed

H/PC version was installed to Pocket PC device, in the case ActiveSync 3.7 was used. This problem has been fixed.

2.4 2002.3.20 Automatic search for storage card folder names, etc

A function has been added for automatic search for storage card folders.
Palm-size PC version and independent executable version have retired.
Online help has been added.
PC setup has been added.

2.3 2000.10.4 Location of screen contents rearranged

The screen contents were rearranged to fit Pocket PC more.

2.1 2000.7.10 Modification for Pocket PC

The way telling P/PC has been changed, just using the screen size. GETPLATFORMTYPE is no longer used. Please note that true Pocket PC version will be released after Tillanosoft obtained SDK for it.
Registry usage has been integrated between independent executable version and control panel applet version.
'Version' tab has changed to 'About' tab.

2.0 2000.1.26 The size of the main window for PsPC has changed.

The size of the main window has changed, so that SpaceLeft displays the same type of window as the other control panel applets. That is, it shows full screen window which is not movable.

1.6 1999.11.17 Dialog items has been readjusted for PsPC support

Palm-size PC display items have been readjusted.
Palm-size PC with CE 2.0 is now supported.
