PocketTweak 4.2.7, a fix for WM2003SE PPC problem, released
9/3
software
A tentative
PocketTweak
fix for the font problem released.
I just changed the maximum value from 200 to 10000.
However, this fixes the problem completely.
Just the ARM version has updated to 4.2.7. MIPS and SH3 versions are
still 4.2.6 which are not harmful since there are no Windows Mobile
2003 Second Edition for these CPUs. PocketTweak does not have the
font problem
with Pocket PC 2000/2002 or Windows Mobile 2003 First Edition
Pocket PC.
PocketTweak 4.2.6 has serious problem with WM 2003 SE
9/2
other
Recently, I received a couple of problem reports which make me realize
the serious problem.
In case you installed PocketTweak 4.2.6 dated Feb 11, 2002, or lower on your Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Pocket PC, and execute PocketTweak to open Font page, then the font settings on your Pocket PC is damaged. The damage appears as you see too small fonts to read.
Please note that the damage will not appear until you soft reset your Pocket PC.
This problem is caused by the change of font height representation in "Ht" value in the registry. The height has changed in Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition to "centi-points" from "pixels". Thus, the default value for "Ht" has changed from 12 to 900.
PocketTweak placed a maximum value as 200 for the font height field, so that, once you open the font page of PocketTweak, the font height on your Pocket PC changes system font height to 200 centi-points, that is, 2 points.
I placed a fix package for those who executed PocketTweak and encountered the problem. This package recovers the font height back to the default height.
I will release an update which no longer has this problem.
I apologies for your inconvenience.
